SIXTEEN AND TWENTY.

Dear Sir: 

The following is a vote of the Board of Election 
Commissioners taken under date of October 3, 1955: 

Voted, to decrease the number of precincts in 
Ward 20 from 22 to 21. 

Voted, to redraw the precinct lines of Ward 16, 
but with no reduction. 

Voted, to transfer Deer Island from Ward 1, 
Precinct 3, to Ward 1, Precinct 12. 

These changes, which will make a total of 289 pre- 
cincts in the City of Boston, are set forth in the descrip- 
tion which will be forwarded to you under separate 
cover. 

The new precinct lines are to become effective for the 
police listing of January 1, 1956.

and Adams street, thence through the middle line of 
Adams street to roadbed of M.T.A. Rapid Transit, 
thence along middle line of said roadbed to Freeport 
street, thence across Freeport street in a northeasterly 
direction to the harbor line, thence along said harbor 
line to a point opposite the junction of Tenean street 
and the New Way, thence from the harbor line in a 
southwesterly direction to said junction, thence through 
the middle line of New Way to roadbed of New York, 
New Haven & Hartford Railroad, thence along middle 
line of said roadbed to a point opposite Victory road, 
thence through the middle line of Victory road to point 
of beginning. 

Precinct 3. — Beginning at the junction of Dorchester 
avenue and Melville avenue thence through the middle 
line of Melville avenue to Penhallow street, thence 
through the middle line of Penhallow street to Mather 
street, thence through the middle line of Mather street

Nixon street to Centre street, thence through the middle

Precinct 12. — Beginning at the junction of Granite ave- 
nue and Gallivan Boulevard, thence through the middle 
line of Gallivan Boulevard to a midway point in the 
Neponset river, thence through the middle line of 
Neponset river to Granite avenue extended, thence 
through the middle line of Granite avenue extended to 
Granite avenue, thence through the middle line of Gran- 
ite avenue to point of beginning. 



Precinct Changes in Ward 20. 



Ward 20 



Precincts 1 to 7, inclusive, and 10 to 21, inclusive, 
remain unchanged. Precincts 8, 9, and 22 have been 
consolidated into two precincts and designated as Pre- 
cincts 8 and 9. 

Precinct 8. — Beginning at the junction of Westbourne 
street and the West Roxbury Parkway, thence through 
the middle line of West Roxbury Parkway to the road- 
bed of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad, 
thence along said roadbed to Ainsworth street to Ains- 
worth Street Footway, thence through the middle line 
of Ainsworth Street Footwa} r to Belgrade avenue, thence

avenue, thence through the middle line of Colberg avenue
